New Forest for Europe is a group of people from across the New Forest who believe that the UK and the people of the UK are better off inside the European Union.
All ages and all backgrounds! The seeds of the group were sown at a “More in Common/Hope not Hate” event in Bournemouth following the murder of the MP Jo Cox during the referendum campaign.
We are totally cross party with members belonging to or supporting the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens though we have no one from UKIP!
We have organised meetings in the area with A C Grayling, Femi Oluwole Our Future Our Choice, Andrew Adonis and others, and have worked hard to support other groups campaigning for the same result such as SODEM. Locally we run street stalls in Bournemouth, Boscombe, Poole, Wimborne, Swanage and elsewhere, and have supported other groups campaigning in other parts of Dorset and the South West.
The stalls are a brilliant way of getting the message out, and many of our active members first found us in the wind and rain outside Monsoon in Bournemouth! What happens on the stalls? We use leaflets and stickers, and petitions and the celebrated Brexitometers, and over the months since that infamous day in June 2016, it has been wonderful to meet more and more people who feel just like us – that leaving the EU is the biggest mistake this country has ever made.
